Professional development
We invest in developing the skills and experience of our people. This means providing training and support to help them progress in their careers.
Progressing people
We support people to develop and achieve their potential. Our learning programme addresses skills gaps. It also concentrates on areas that will drive our performance.
We have various approaches that we use – aimed at getting the best outcomes. These include:
- secondments
- peer-to-peer learning
- apprenticeships
- classroom-based training
- e-learning courses.
Every year we sponsor people to do work-related qualifications or accreditations. This scheme is open to those who have been with us for at least a year. It’s on top of our apprenticeships and other formal development programmes.
Developing skills
Our learning management system, Workday Learning, allows our people to help shape their own learning and development from wherever they are.
We invest in developing the skills and experience of all our people. This includes those starting out in their careers as well as people at a later stage in their working lives.
We provide a series of training courses on areas such as:
- customer service
- project management
- homelessness
- domestic violence
- suicide intervention
- safeguarding.
