Our recruitment process
Clarion Housing Group has an open and transparent recruitment process. We aim to get the best match – for us and you.
Developing your career
Clarion is a place where you can deliver on our ambitions, whilst realising your own. We are the largest housing association in the country, and also have a charitable foundation and development arm.
Around 4,000 people from a diverse range of backgrounds and communities across the UK are working on our mission to provide homes for those most in need. Our size means there are real possibilities for career progression. It also means we offer a wide choice of careers, from frontline roles helping residents, to repairs, surveying, accountancy, law and marketing.
Our people enjoy a great rewards package and receive training and development to help them progress.
Applying for a job
We advertise all of our job vacancies and provide detailed profiles of the roles we’re looking to fill. In return, you’ll need to submit your CV and any supporting statements requested.
We’ll want to know your suitability for the role and how you match the criteria in the role profile.
You’ll need to outline your reasons for applying. Compare your skills, experience and achievements against those in the role profile. Be relevant and specific in telling us your suitability for the role.
We may ask you to show your knowledge, understanding or experience of aspects of the role profile. You’ll need to give detailed answers and specific examples demonstrating your skills and experience.
As an inclusive employer signed up to the Disability Confident Scheme we’ll support you on your Disability Confident journey. We’ll always offer and provide you with assistance when submitting your application, attending an interview or by making reasonable adjustments to the assessment process.
You may wish to use the STAR technique to structure your responses:
- Situation – the situation you had to deal with
- Task – the task you had to do
- Action – the action you took
- Result – what happened as a result and what you learned from the experience.
