We are a diverse and inclusive organisation that promotes equality of opportunity and represents the residents and communities with whom we work.

Equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) is part of our DNA. Closing our gender and ethnicity pay gaps, supporting people to be their best selves, and offering sustainable careers are just some of the things which are making us an employer of choice.

Our inclusive approach extends beyond our team of more than 4,000 colleagues. We involve our residents in our work to shape the services we provide to them, and take a customer-centric approach.

At Clarion, diversity is more than a policy; it is embedded in our DNA and extends beyond our team to include the residents and partners we engage with.  

Over 20% of our staff come from ethnic minority backgrounds and women represent 55% of our workforce, mirroring the vibrant diversity of the people and communities we work with. 

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan is putting words into practice in promoting ED&I, having a sustainable and diverse supply chain, and working in partnership with local people. 

As we continue to highlight how our diversity remains a key strength, our Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group plays a vital role in driving our progress against agreed targets and continuously reviews new initiatives to ensure we meet our goals.

Clarion Housing Group promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

We train our managers in unconscious bias as part of our commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity for all. This is on top of the training we provide to our people on diversity and inclusion.

We’ve several staff networks that provide support for colleagues. These include networks for:

  • colleagues from ethnic minorities
  • those with disabilities or long-term health conditions
  • LGBTQIA+ colleagues
  • people facing gender-related issues.

More than one in five of our staff are from ethnic minorities, reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve. Women make up 55% of our workforce, and our Group Executive Team has equal numbers of men and women.

Our Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group monitors our progress against agreed targets. It also reviews new initiatives.
